Buzz contract crews are making progress in Sanford, Kinston and Red Level
Posted onEveryone working on the Buzz Broadband build out is excited about the progress that has been made despite delays due to weather, material shortages and other factors. We’re proud to announce that Buzz has more than 600 internet subscribers, and and dozens of phone subscribers, at this time. All CEC members living in the Wing/Beda area have access to our broadband service at this time and they can call to schedule an install at their home. Most of the Sanford Designated Areas (8 out of 10) and Kinston (7 out of 8) are now available, as well as a portion of the Red Level Designated Areas (3 out of 11).
It’s important for people to understand that when they see contractors hanging fiber on utility poles, they are not the workers who will be installing fiber to the home. Another contractor comes in behind them to splice the fiber cable and then sufficient testing is required. Once that process is complete and approved, then Buzz will send emails to CEC members in open areas to schedule installs. It’s very important not to cancel your internet or phone service until after Buzz services are fully installed inside your home.
It’s also worth noting that not all electronics are built to handle 1G/2G speeds, especially older devices. This is why a speed test may not show our advertised speeds. All internet equipment is owned by Buzz Broadband, so it will need to be returned if a member decides to disconnect service.
Buzz Broadband has many contractors working on all phases of this massive project. We also have six Buzz employees working diligently to help ensure its success.
